MESSAGE
To our fellow alumni, all proud graduates of the Manila Central University and esteemed members of The Manila Central University Medical Alumni Foundation,
It is my honor as Chairperson to be able to share this message with you all as we launch our official Alumni Association Website. While our days are students within the hallowed halls of MCU may have long passed, our mission to be able to look to the future and keep our community, and our respective fields of expertise, relevant in an ever-changing world remains a strong call as ever. It is thus my pride to be able to share this joy with you as we truly immerse ourselves in the new century through this website. I expect that through this, we will strengthen our community ties with fellow alumni, the stakeholders of the MCU at large and the Alumni Association itself, and concretely reach the global audience.
This core mission of strengthening the ties and bonds of the alumni community remains strong 39 years later, from when Mrs. Luningning T. Estanislao, then Executive Vice-President of the MCU-MAF, and Dr. Lutgarda C. Quito, then incoming College Dean, visited New York with MCU Alumna Dr. Concepcion M. Abesamis. At this same time that they decided to establish the MCU Medical Alumni Foundation, they too were met with the pleasant surprise that in the West Coast, the MCU Medical Alumni Association in America had already been established preceding the Alumni Foundation. It was evident then, as it is now, that the penchant for MCU alumni to initiate, innovate, and be responsive to the times and to their immediate communities was strong. Thus, 39 strong years later on, we remain committed to raise funds to support the College and Charity Hospital, assist impoverished but academically deserving medical students, support continuing education of College of Medicine faculty members, and fostering personal and social relations among alumni.
In this year of our Lord 2023, we elevate these commitments and our community to the global forum. We make our communications and advocacy even more accessible, and in this endeavor of establishing our official website we serve as a testament that the mission and relevance of the Alumni Foundation is not intended to just rest on the laurels of the almost four decades it has been in existence. We look to the following years, nay, the next century and beyond, where we continue an indomitable tradition of service, leadership, and compassion, not just in the medical field, but in fostering a continued love for education among the students of our beloved MCU, and inspiring continued innovations for the physical facilities of MCU to serve the people amidst ever-changing and uncertain times.
I congratulate all of you in helping make this step forward possible, for truly your Officers and Board Members can only draw so much strength from the invaluable support of all the alumni. Through you, with you, and for you, we truly step into the digital and global stage. Through the Alumni Foundation, MCU shall realize its ideals and traditions among the youth and the communities we seek to help and support.
Thank you for the trust you have reposed in us, your Alumni Foundation Board and Officers; now we move on to another century, stronger together, and stronger because of each other.
